Cisco is proud to announce the winners of the 2015 IoT World Forum Young Women’s Innovation Grand Challenge! These top 10 winners were selected from the 20 semi-finalist submissions and evaluated by a pool of judges from STEM industries and Cisco leadership.

IoT industry leaders conceived of The Challenge as a way to encourage young women to pursue careers in the STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Today, women hold only one in seven jobs in engineering and account for just 27 percent of computer science positions. Women comprise 67% of all college degrees, but less than 20% of them in computer science. The Grand Challenge was able to connect with over 1,500 girls, aged 13 to 18 years old, who completed almost 400 entries across 171 countries. Cisco is honored to support more and more young women getting involved in STEM. Check out Cisco’s formal press release here.
